Hi Vickee. This was a marvelous tribute to Betty White. I learned and laughed and felt kind of inspired by the life lessons you drew. I didn’t follow Betty White’s work or know her many virtues, like kindness and respect for diversity. But I liked so much what you saw in her.

My main memory of Ms. White was from the Mary Tyler Moore show, which I loved and thought was clever, funny, and a cultural innovation. I forget the name of the character Betty played, but I remember her as having a devilishly contrived sweetness and a superficially pure 1950s-like homemaker persona that craftily hid a biting sarcasm and man-crazy wildness. Betty was so good at portraying this personality split. She drew you right in. Three cheers for her!

You know, The Mary Tyler Moore Show is the one thing that I've never seen her in because I've never seen even one episode. I think I'll have to make that the series that I binge the next time that I get sick. I need something new to watch and have always heard great things about the show. Thank you, as always, for reading and sharing your thoughts with me Glen. <3
